The Thkianema publishing group (lit. Wandering) was active in Limassol during the period 1995-2003. It circulated as a magazine under the same name at irregular intervals. The group appears to have been formed by people who had previously been active in the publishing team of the magazine Train in the City.

Thkianema, from the Cypriot thkianévkomai, meaning “to take a walk” in Standard Modern Greek, or “taking a walk on the wild side,” as Lou Reed might put it, has a series of suspect targets. The train is waiting in the underground of the city for the expansion of the free zones, and these publications will take the form of a semiological guerrilla war for the next assault of desire. Consequently, Thkianema will be disorderly, mad, seemingly makeshift and experimental. Like reconnaissance of the terrain.¹⁾
