Cypriot Worker was a bilingual (Greek, Turkish) newspaper which was published from 1975 to 1979. It was published in London by a group of Cypriots, Turks and Greeks who were in Britain.
Cypriot Worker is published by a group of Cypriots, Greeks and Turks based in Britain. Most of us are members of the SOCIALIST WORKERS PARTY (S.W.P.). However, this magazine is open to all Cypriot socialists who wish to contribute and take part in the debate concerning the future of Cyprus.
We generally believe in workers' power and international socialism. That is why our aim is to inform and mobilise around issues concerning the working people of Cyprus, Turkey and Greece, the Cypriot community and the international struggle for socialism.
The activities of the Cypriot Worker are not limited to the publication of this magazine. Wherever possible we work in solidarity with workers in Cyprus, Greece and Turkey. In particular we deal with the problems faced by the thousands of Cypriots in Britain: immigration control, racism, trade unionism, unsafe and unhealthy working conditions.1)
