XORKO Collaborative Arts Movement (Ομάδα)
Το XORKO Collaborative Arts Movement ήταν μια καλλιτεχνική κολεκτίβα D.I.Y., που δραστηριοποιήθηκε μεταξύ 2011 και 2015. Παρήγαγε συλλογές με διάφορους μουσικούς καλλιτέχνες μέσω συνεργασίας που βασιζόταν πάν σε μια D.I.Y. υθική η οποία εναντιωνόταν στο κέρδος και τους σπόνσορες. Ανέβαζε και διακινούσε αυτή τη μουσική μέσω του SoundCloud.
Ενώ το XORKO είχε διοργανώσει διάφορες καλλιτεχνικές εκδηλώσεις από την ίδρυση του, έλαβε ευρύτερη κάλυψη μετά τη διοργάνωση δύο μη κερδοσκοπικών μουσικών φεστιβάλ στο χωριό Αρμίνου τον Ιούλιο του 2012 και τον Αύγουστο του 2013, τα οποία διοργανώθηκαν από εθελοντές. Δημοσίευσε επίσης μια συλλογή πειραματικής ποίησης-φωτογραφίας, ενώ επιπλέον κυκλοφόρησε ένα CD ηλεκτρονικής μουσικής, μέσω ανοιχτών προσκλήσεων. Επίσης, διοργάνωσε και συντόνισε το συνέδριο 'Παράγωντας τοπικότητα: Πολιτιστικές προσπάθειες, προς ένα κυπριακό πλαίσιο', που πραγματοποιήθηκε το 2015 στο Ίδρυμα ARTos στη Λευκωσία.
Group Identity
Like any “Χορκό” (village) the goal is to create a community. In order to do that, we are creating a Collaborative Movement.
The community will create an environment where youth (or not) in Cyprus will have the oppurtunity to become educated about the local Art scene and interact through free collaborations. It is a chance to rejuvenate and create our own identity in the world as a Cypriot Art scene whether that is music, applied/fine arts, photography, performance, writing etc.
We believe in the new artists and youth, we feel that each one of us has the ability to create and share their knowledge and thoughts. Our artists will be able to put their ideas and on going projects so that others will hook up and start a collaboration.
This is a non-profit community. No one will get paid for their collaborations and no one will pay. This is not the place to be selfish or greedy, it a place to share and create. The money will be coming from donations or very cheap entrance for our festivals and events. All the money we'll manage to gather will go to the needs of the expansion of the website and for promoting new talents, like renting a recording studio for them to record their work.1)
