Entropia (lit. Entropy) was a magazine of the radical milieu that was published in Nicosia between 2013 and 2020 by the anarchist/anti-authoritarian group Syspirosi Atakton. According to the magazine's mission statement, its goal was to strengthen dialogue within the radical movement, by acting an open forum, but also spread awareness of local struggles to a wider audience. The print magazine was distributed free of charge mainly at social space Kaymakkin but also online on its official website.
The usual structure of the magazine includes a feature on a specific thematic category that concerned Syspirosi Atakton in the period preceding each issue, a section of opinion/reflection assembling texts originating from the broader field of social movements and of political action, a section reviewing the actions of the past period and republishing the calls and announcements of Syspirosi Atakton and the pan-European network Beyond Europe, and a section dedicated to artistic creations.
The main language of the magazine was Greek (with articles in both the written Greek language variety and the Cypriot Greek language variety), but several issues also included articles in English, which in some cases accounted for up to a quarter of the issue's content.
Entropy is a collective project. It is published through anti-hierarchical processes and aims to intervene and highlight disruptive dynamics in a range of issues: class, economic, social, grassroots, political, cultural, and ecological. It attempts to intensify dialogue within the radical movement, but also to make local struggles known to a wider audience. It is part of the actions we are developing towards the overthrow of the existing capitalist and bourgeois system, but also towards the construction of a society of solidarity, self-organization, and freedom.1)
