Tags are a very important part of the structure of the Archive, as they allow searching based on different variables. Without them it will be exceptionally difficult to find the pages we want to. Their use from the archive contributors is essential. The various tags that are being used are presented below, as well as relevant information concerning where they are used.

Every page must have at least one tag, but specific tags concern specific types of material.

The syntax below is inserted at the end of the page code, and within the brackets of this syntax the tags are inserted, replacing the three dots:

You do not need to copy the syntax above, since on the editing page there is the option Insert Tags on the tool bar (the icon resembling a label).

The order by which the tags appear is not relevant.

Tags can consist of many words, for example Decade:“Decade 2010-2019” but in this case it is necessary that the phrase is inserted within double quotation marks. If this is not done, the Archive assumes that the tags are divided by spaces, and will interpret it as two separate tags, for example Decade:Decade and 2010-2019“

A structure of “folders” is used throughout the Archive, in the same manner we save digital files. The dividing symbol between the folders is the colon (”:“). In the last example, Decade:“Decade 2010-2019”, the tag “Decade 2010-2019” is located within the folder of the primary level, Decade.

This structure allows us to create automatically catalogues of our pages, based on the general tag (for ex: Decade, Leaflet, Magazine). If all tags were used on the primary level, then we would not be able to produce these catalogues. Therefore, a lot of attention needs to be given on the use of the correct tag level.

All tags that are currently being used are referred below, together with instructions regarding where they are used and to what extent they are mandatory. Their insertion in a page is done in the manner that has been explained above.

This tag family is used in all pages. It states the condition of completion of the tasks needed for every page. With the exception of a fully completed page, more that one tag from this family will probably be needed. These tags help us know at any moment which pages need what kind of attention, so that we can be able to improve them effectively.

For example, a page which needs translation to Turkish and a Historical Note section, will have the following Condition tags, as well as any other tags from any family which is applicable to the page:

When the need described by the tag is fulfilled, the tag should be removed.

Used when there is no pending task.

Used when we suspect that information concerning the categorization and description of the material could be inaccurate. The specific reason for the use of this tag should be made clear on the top of the page with an infobox.

Every page created in the Archive is filed under a “type of material” category, for example:

• “Group” for pages describing groups or organizations.
• “Magazine” for pages describing magazine publications.
• and so on

The use of these tags allows us to automatically create catalogues such as the Magazine Catalogue.

Used on the pages describing groups and organizations, but not on pages of material originating from groups. The pages with this tag are listed in the Groups Catalogue.

Used on pages which describe buildings significant to the movements (ex: squats, social spaces etc), or geographical locations where there was a production of political material (ex: squares, neighborhoods etc). The pages with this tag are listed in the Spaces Catalogue

The 'Magazines' tag, without further subcategories is used on the pages describing a publication which is circulated in regular frequency, with incrementing Issue numbering, such as magazines and newspapers. It is not used on pages describing a specific issue, nor on pages of a specific transcribed article. The pages with this tag appear in the Magazines Catalogue.

The subcategory tag bearing the name of a magazine is used for pages which list the contents (index) of a specific issue, such as Entropia — Issue 5. It is not used in pages of isolated articles coming from a certain issue. The name of the magazine used in the tag should be the same name as the one used in the title of the page describing the magazine, eg the page for Εντροπία is titled “Entropia (Magazine)”, therefore the tag is:

The tag with the sub-category Issue Number is used under the pages of isolated articles which come from an issue of a periodical publication. For example the article Anti-militarism and the hypocrisy of the Greek Cypriot Left comes from the Issue 5 of Entropia, therefore the tag is formed as follows:

• Magazine Name identical to the magazine's page: “Entropia (Magazine)”
• Magazine Issue identical to the issue's page: “Entropia Issue 5”

and as a result, the tag for an isolated article is:

The Brochure tag without further subcategories is used under pages which describe a one-off publication, without periodical issues. A brochure usually focuses on a single thematic category, unlike periodical publications which usually have diverse topics - this is not a hard rule though. This tag is not used on pages of specific typed articles. Pages with this tag appear on Brochures Catalogue.

The tag with the sub-category Name of Brochure is used under the pages of isolated articles which come from a brochure. This division is usually not applied in brochures that only have one text, or very short brochures where the typed text can appear on the same page as the brochure description.

The tag is formed as follow:

The rest of material included in the Archive doesn't bear further categorisation past the first level (that is, it is not divided into Issues and/or Articles). At the moment, these categories are:

Usually printed material with only one or two pages. It always deals with only one thematic category.

Usually printed material which is small in size, with a slogan or short message. It always refers to one thematic category.

Material with informative or propagandist function which relies significantly on its design, regardless of whether it was posted on walls or shared electronically.

Αυτό το tag χρησιμοποιείται σε κάθε είδος σελίδας, αν θεωρείται χρήσιμο - μπορούν να χρησιμοποιηθούν πάνω από ένα αν χρειάζεται. Είναι ημί-ανοιχτή κατηγορία, δηλαδή δεν ενθαρρύνεται η δημιουργία νέων θεμάτων αν υπάρχει ήδη κάποιο άλλο παρόμοιο σε χρήση, αλλά δεν είναι κλειστή κατηγορία όπως οι Ιδεολογικοί Χώροι. Προσοχή, αυτό το tag διαφέρει από το tag Χώροι. Χρησιμοποιείται σε σελίδες που περιγράφουν Ομάδες και Χώρους, ή καταλόγους περιγραφής Τεύχους Περιοδικού και Μπροσούρας, για να δηλώσει την περιοχή δράσης της ομάδας ή χώρου ή διανομής του εντύπου που περιγράφει η σελίδα.
